THIS WEEK'S BAND SPOTLIGHT: POMPEII

Pompeii is an indie rock band from Austin, Texas, currently signed with Eyeball Records. Eyeball Records has a reputation for discovering previously unknown talent, both My Chemical Romance and Thursday have released albums on Eyeball. Here they have discovered another amazing band, though one that sounds quite different than the two bands mentioned above. Pompeii is soft, peaceful, intense, and moving, all in the same note. At times introspective, retrospective, and extraspective, Pompeii is an amazing experience. Their debut CD "Assembly" is available now on Eyeball Records.

Long Story Short: Forget talking about if "Assembly" holds up to repeat listens. You'll wear the CD out and still want more.

Recommended Tracks: "Ten Hundred Lights"; "Miracle Mile"; "Assembly"

THIS WEEK IN REVIEWS

MP3 reviews - all of these mp3s are available free from the labels :)

"The Answer" by The Autumn Defense fromhttp://www.arenarockrecordingco.com/audiovideo.htm

The Autumn Defence, signed to Arena Rock Recording Co., plays slow paced indie rock, the kind which makes every inch of your body from head to toe feel warm. Music that makes you glow. Only one mp3 is available from Arena Rock's website, but just from this one mp3, you can hear that The Autumn Defence is one of those bands with the capacity to become your new favourite band.

"Always Keep Your Head Up" by The Modern Day Saint fromhttp://www.eyeballrecords.com/artists/moderndaysaint/

Independent labels usually have a "signature sound", and with Eyeball Records, that sound is quiet, intelligent, moving indie rock. The Modern Day Saint's sound is loud, rowdy, music that guarantees a good time. Intelligent lyrics delivered in a fast, energetic style, delivering the perfect party music for the indie scene. The Modern Day Saint's new CD with Eyeball Records "...And Tomorrow We Will Have Nothing", is a must have for anyone who enjoys fun... which come on, is everyone.
